I have to challenge this. IMHO, the "Greatest Single Shot ever developed"? My opinion: the Winchester 1885. After 132 years, still in production and more accurate than the No1. Even if you discount the modern 1885, which is crazy in my view. The origional run of 1885 was built in quantities and caliber choices unmatched by any other single shot. From 22LR to 50/110 in barrels 16" to 36". All this variety and production was not in the day of cool, novelty or collector guns.
