I rember turning down a CE with the wood case for $800.00 thinking at the time it was a bit Brite for a hunting rifle!
There's one going on gunbroker right now for $2490, and prices have come down lately. That beats the stock market all to sheit! I remember David saying there were bright finishes and flat finishes like these two represent but I don't remember the particulars. The flat finish on the PE is perfect for my taste.
Any of you boys back east close to the factory know how this PE wood might have made it's way to the market since it belonged to a numbered rifle?
