Every year I see between 400 to 550 Whitetail that are killed here on the ranch by our hunters, we process the meat here at our game cleaning station, as a result I see wounds caused by many different calibers, and bullets, I don't think there is anyone on this thread that can tell the difference between a deer killed with a .243 or a .257.or a 6.5 killmore or a .270. or a 30-06 or a 7x57 or anything else. including what bullet was used to kill the deer or how far away the deer was when shot.
We also butcher about 300 pigs and 150 exotics that are killed by our hunters with everything from .223 to 458 lott.
last year we killed 332 coyotes and 63 bobcats, Who can tell me what killed these animals by looking at the bullet wounds ???? Rio7
Odd I have zero problems seeing the difference in damage done by the 243 and the 308, especially if the 308 is pushing a Soft 150 grain bullet. And I only process 20 or so animals a year!
