Well you can use em for that Pappy and I have done just that. IMHO better than a piece of leather. I hammer em out a lot flatter and thinner. Like this!

But that is simply sheet lead that has a hole punched in It and strung up for later to be cast for shot. I did it as kind of an example of a trade item back whe I did presentations and such. Otherwords a reloading kit, so to speak. smile

As a side note, When doing volunteer archaeology work at the Presidio Los Adaes site at Robeline Louisiana, we found lots of spilt lead and cut off sprues.
