I have the 175 grain LRX bullet for use in an un-fired Legendary Arms Works .300 Win. Mag. I have used Barnes X bullets since they came out and like them. Barnes makes a 190 grain LRX .308 bullet that is not for sale except in loaded ammo.
So far almost all of the .338 250 and 225 grain X bullets and 180 X and 168 grain TTSX bullets we have shot through the moose, caribou and black bears my family has taken. So I guess it is not the end of the world if the LRX bullet opens up quicker and gives a bit less penetration.
They also make a 350 grain X bullet for the 45-70, but will not sell it to guys like me to load my own. Buffalo Bore sells loaded ammo with that bullet. I wish they would make all of their bullets available to the general public, frustrating to say the least.
