Not Mule Deer but my thoughts FWIW. Take closer shots, use larger shot, use more choke (not always possible or advisable), shoot one of the other non toxic loads; ITX, Tungsten, Bismuth.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.
