As mentioned previously-
This stock pictured has been painted/speckle textured(no Big deal)
The pillar/column adj cheek piece hardware was originally round knurled thumb screws & not the installed allen set screws(no Big deal)

The 40XC stock is proprietary to the Rem Custom Shop until that model goes out of production.

A "MODIFIED" 40X stock is available from McMillan w/o the full drop belly configuration as the 40XC stock.

Original color was a medium gray - aka automotive gray primer color.

A hardwood/birch model was offered on the 540X rimfire 22LR rifles of the mid/late 80's.

OTC/Across the Course NRA shooters don't particularly care for the wide/full belly McM 40XC stocks of which they are configured to maximum regs for match rifle stocks by NRA.

2 hand rail varieties of the 40XC stock were offered from Remington Custom Shop-
The "short" rail version that is pictured & a full length hand rail version of which are Freeland rails(US) & not Anschutz/FWB(Int'l) rail sections.

Price/cost for this particular stock is in the eye of the beholder/market value ......... $400-$800 dollars.

The 4 that I have in possession on NRA OTC 40X rifles have had the 2 way (up/down) butt plates changed to 3 way(up/down/in-out/cant) adjustable butt plates.

Keep'em in the X ring,
Dan
