On wood stocks I torque to 60 inch pounds.
On synthetic stocks, including plastic stocks I torque to 55 inch pounds.
I have seen plastic stocks crack at 65 inch pounds after a season of shooting and hunting. The extreme cold weather here in Montana with hot and cold the same day I feel caused that.
I always torque in steps at half the torque rear and the front last and then torque to 55 inch pounds.
I came by that method using a dial indicator for stock stress and I always get less stock stress tightening the front last.
Hope this helps.
