So since the last visit our son Hayden has not let us live down the fact that we visited Hawaii without him. No matter how I tried to convey that it was a romantic trip for his mother and I, he was unyielding!

Flash forward a couple of years. Lovie and I are planning a vacation and she said what if we involved Hayden and went on spring break? So after saving for a while, we booked a trip to O'ahu's North Shore.

Meanwhile one of Lovie's co-workers recently wed and mentioned she would like to go on vacation sometime. Lovie and invited her and her new husband to accompany us and we would make it one big family extravaganza. Well, there was some preliminary trouble with them. We arrive at the airport, board our plane and we fly from DFW international to SFI. We land and I check my watch, we have a little bit of time, but not much. They say that they want to go smoke. Where I interrupted them and said that's not wise. We need to first go to our gate, check in and see if it is leaving early, keep in mind, there is a two hour window where the time changed from what you are thinking....
Nah, it'll be all right.
Okay again, I would advise against it, additionally if you exit the airport, you will have to go through the TSA again. It's a PIA.
Against sage wisdom they left to smoke, we approached the gate and hear "Final Board call for Honolulu Flight # XXXX" and we board the plane.
My wife stressing out is calling her pal to let her know and they are rushing to get back.
NOPE! TSA held them up for a while. Mind you, I have all their things. Money, laptops, ect...All she and her husband had were their driver's license and boarding passes.
The plane starts backing out and we are taxing out to the runway. Where we left our friends in San Fran.
Meanwhile, I pay for the Wi-Fi and get in touch with Mike650 to brainstorm in the event they are not able to get a connecting flight.
Thankfully the CS dept. took care of our friends and put them on the next flight two hours later.

That's about the most exciting thing that happened since leaving Dallas. Everything else is what is to be expected when visiting Hawaii.
Here's some of the photos from our trip.
