Have not used the Hornaday but the Lapua can sometimes be reloaded twice as many times as some other brass so it defrays the cost some. Shell forming is time consuming and can create other issues like donuts and the need to anneal more often. 243 cases would work as the necking up reduces the chance of donuts but you may have to neck turn or ream because the shorter 250 case will have some of the thicker 243 brass in the shoulder and neck area.
