I too wanted a 500-800 yard rifle for shooting deer and antelope. I chose the Browning X-bolt, hell's canyon, in the Mcmillan stock....in 300 win. I put a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 with the MOAR reticle, on it. Replaced the trigger with a timney, and set it at 2.25 lbs.
It shoots factory nosler 200 grain accubonds into .5" at 100 yards. Best 800 yard 5 shot group has been 5". I did leave the muzzle break on it, so I could spot my shots, myself.

I too bought one, but in 28 Nosler, really a nice rifle for the money. Very nice fit and finish, and as you saw they shoot awesome. I went the trigger spring route, mine break just a hair under 2 lbs.
