Vasque boots used to be made in Italy.
I wore through a number of them, and were impressed with their durability. They were also popular with guys who needed high performance footwear and worked in austere conditions.
Then Vasque started producing their line in China and quality took a serious nose dive.
I turned to Asolo (made in Romania) and never looked back.
Others mileage may vary.
Exactly my experience. Have owned the old Vasque, an alpine pair from Germany made by Lowa, and one or two other Italians. Two years ago bought Asolo TPS 520 GV and am completely happy with them.
