Your rifle may exhibit a preference. I load for a bunch of 308's and some of them do better with brass that has been FL sized for about a .003" shoulder bump. Others show no preference.
What kind of neck size die are you considering? I mostly recommend against the standard type. Lee makes a collet die for 280 Rem., and from what I've read on this site the Lee collet dies for the "regular" versions of the AI ones work fine with the AI brass too. Hopefully someone who has used this particular combination will chime in.
