It looks good as long as you put the bottom half or maybe two thirds of the paper on the bird rather than the top. I like #3 steel for most uses and it is my favorite for field hunting but it is not the size I would pick for "all around use". For that I pick 1 1/4 oz #2 steel which will cover close in birds as well as those further out.

This is due to an all around load being used for pass shooting larger ducks (mallards and pintails) in addition to shooting decoying birds as well as hunting divers which tend to be longer range than puddlers. I also see a fair number of geese (often more opportunities than ducks) and #2 does a better job on them for me.
