I like history and enjoy reading about American history. Can any of you tell me, would their have been a war between the North and South if there had been no slavery? I worked with a guy who came from the South and he insisted it was all about economics and the North trying to control the South and slavery had nothing to do with it.

I asked him where was the South's economic power with out the cheap slave labor, he never did give a answer on that. He even tried to justify slavery, we were never friends.
