55.5 grains of 4350 in my 700 gave me 3170 FPS and caliber wide bu 1/2 inch high groups. It has killed 8-12 deer. All one shot kills. All complete pass throughs. One deer manged 70 yards with no lungs and a blown up heart. The rest something less. One deer at 263 yards was high shouldered slightly quartering away. Fist size hole through the on side scapula, 4 ribs edgewise, fist size chunk out of the bottom of the spine, two ribs edge wise, quarter size hole in the off side scapula and exited. Thee holes in the hide were both caliber sized. Tore up the lungs pretty good. Down where it stood obviously. Bullet hit within 1/2 inch of POA. That's a lot of bone to go through in a straight line. No petals came off that I could see, and I butchered the deer.
Kills ranged from 25 feet to 263 yards. As far as I am concerned, I do not need anything else for my .270.
