With winter, and an elk hunt coming, Saturday was looking like my last chance to go trout fishing for a while.

I loaded up and left early, to a small lake where I have had luck in the past on German Browns.
The lake level was way down, ½ mile below the boat launch, so I had to 4 wheel down and launch in gumbo mud. It was messy.
I finally got the lines out about 10 minuets after first light.
No Browns but I boated 20 Rainbows by noon. From 12 to 20 inches, most by trolling lures on light spinning gear, and 6 on “Hook-Up” jigs behind a doger.

I forgot my camera, but I got a few cell phone photos.
