Today, subject to change at any given time, my favorite double action for use, is a Toklat 5" Super Redhawk. I have carried it a bunch and become quiet fond of it. Single actions a 4-3/4" Freedom Arms 475 Linebaugh. Though both have stiff competition in 45 Colt and 480 Ruger chamberings.
Lessor intense size, fun guns would be s stainless S&W of some sort, probably of the moon clip variety.
