I also called around and found a M92 44 mag. Pricey, but it the long run its probably the better deal.

I always forget about the Henry, I seem to think 22's when I hear Henry.


My son acquired two Remlins a 30/30 for his wife and a 45/70 SS for himself. Both had serious problems. The 45/70 looks to have a cracked receiver just above the mag tube hole. Apparently cracking in this area started showing up when Remington took over.

I had a M92 44 mag, beautiful gun and it shot very well. I shot 300 grain cast bullets and they hit hard. Killed a big caribou bull with the combo. Wish I hadn't sold it now.
