Fellows ,
When I came home from the war in 1970 I needed a rifle for deer hunting . I saw an ad in the Philadelphia Inquirer by a store called Edelmans in Horsham PA " Marlin Lever -30-30 or 35 Rem.-$ 74.95 " .
I drove up from Delaware County and bought the rifle . The paper receipt states MARLIN 336 C . It has a gold trigger and a Marlin Medallion in the butt stock . For 30 years an older friend who was an avid gun collector told me its not a 336C it's a 336 with a micro grove barrel .

Anyway I shot a nice 7 pointer in Carbon County with that rifle in 1979 and retired it . How the hell do I determine what it is ?

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration .
Happy Thanksgiving
