I've got a late New Haven M70 Fwt 243 with Burris Dual Dovetail Signature rings. When the scope adjustments are centered, the thing shoots nearly a foot to the left. I don't know if it's tapped out of alignment or if the barrel is in crooked. I've got a set of the offset rings up to .020" ordered and going to try to get the scope close to centered on the adjustment. I noticed that in the images, the notches for screw clearance are only at the dividing line of the halves. If I want to turn them sideways it looks like I'll have to cut new notches.
Does anybody have any idea of which offset inserts would be close on this rifle and which way do you orient the heavy side of the insert?
Ring spacing is about 4.125". Offsets in the kit are .005, .010, .015, and .020".
Thanks
