Just back from a LGS. He has a nice 592 with (3) boxes of the old Remington ammo included. Asking $425 but I suspect I can get it a little less. He also has (6) boxes of the new Aquila ammo in stock at $24.95 each. I'm considering trying to make a deal for all of it.
$425 is a steal for the rifle ALONE in the current market if it's even decent. Make your best pitch to the guy...……...but go with enough cash in your pocket to pay face price.
Well, maybe as an investment or a collectable, but I can think of better ways to spend $425 for something to actually
use. Hummers and good .22 mag loads will do the same jobs and offer wide choices in guns and ammo. I've had a 581 since 1967, and its a pretty good little rifle, but I ain't looking for more, regardless of caliber (or
cartridge)
