I've been going through images of my 1950s EGs, Fs, & Rs. I seem to find no rythm, rhyme or reason to whether a stock is fluted. I have had fluted and un-fluted models from the era. One would have expected all Featherweight models to be fluted but that's not the case.

Reason?

The reason I ask is because I picked up another early F 768XXX [1955] today, I expected to be so enhanced but it was not fluted either???
