Tac does sound like the best powder to start with if you got it, pretty tough to find here.

Just to add my .02 to the thread, my BLR doesn't like boat tail bullets but does well with flat base slugs. The 200 gr Hornady Spire Point and RN and Sierra 200 gr RN all shoot well with 45.5-46 gr IMR 3031 depending on the exact bullet. You never asked this but will add it anyway, it does great with the 180 gr Speer and 48 gr H 4895 and also the 225 gr Woodleigh RN loaded with 47 gr IMR 8208. Don't have accurate speeds right now but will try to run them over the chronograph in the next few weeks. Pretty tough to get any type of readings here in winter when it's so dark.

Edit: Forgot to add I did go higher with the 200 gr IMR 3031 loads but the accuracy fell apart, went up to 48 gr I believe.
