Those things do tug on a rod some. It sure looks like you had some calm weather if that background water is any indication. I use to first mate for a buddy with a charter boat on Lake Michigan and we had a ball. That or off the nuclear power plant warm water discharge in little boats after work. Trouble was what to do with all the fish? Another fun fish out there were the Skamania rainbow trout. They don't hardly taper from the dorsal fin on back and are all muscle. They jump like crazy when you hook one. I've seen them break brand new 20# test when they hit a lure. Get bit by one on the wire lines and you'd think that rod would explode. You look pretty close to shore with those salmon. The down side of those Skamanias was that we had to run out 20 plus miles to find them, so the gas guy loved us. I miss those days. Thanks for the memory jog.
