In Texas you can use deadly force to stop an attack on another person, i think this situation would qualify.
Normally it would, but I might have hesitated pulling my gun, knowing who the Houston chief of police is, the anti 2nd amendment Art Acevedo, who would have had me arrested when I did. When he was chief of the Austin PD, Art got on the media and told the "good" citizens of Austin to call APD if they thought they had neighbors who had lots of guns. Art's another one of those California transplantee's we seem to be find ourselves infested with. Maybe the Houston city council was looking for someone to mate with Sheila Jackson Lee when they got him from Austin.
