With a Minnkota co pilot or a terrova with I pilot you have a remote control boat. You can sit anywhere in the boat and control the trolling motor.
I have the terrova and like it a lot. It has some features I like such as spot lock, cruise control and you can set your bearing . Then you can troll
while only making minor adjustments.
