I picked up a Weatherby Mark-V in 375 H&H on GB. It showed it with a Synthetic stock which I am OK with, until I took the stock off for a better look at. It was not original to the rifle. Someone replaced it and had to open up the barrel channel to get it in the stock. Not a very good job either. I have been looking around about Weatherby contours. It looks like I don't have a standard #4 contour but with smaller barrel OD. The dimensions are good for a #4 contour but my barrel muzzle is only .730. Which appears to shows smaller than a #4 barrel channel. The tapper on the barrel being 2" looks correct for a #4. It is a 9 lug bolt.
Any ideas on getting a correct fitting stock?
Could I get a #4 contour stock and have it look like it is free floated with the smaller .730 barrel?
