Congratulations on your new pup. I was lucky enough to be introduced to the breed by a chance meeting with a guy we met while hunting pheasant in eastern Colorado. He was out working his dog and we were next to a field of wheat stubble that was cut about 3 inches tall. He wanted to know if we wanted to hunt behind the dog. The field was between us and our truck, so we figured why not? I honestly thought there were no birds at all in this field...none. So there are now three guys and one dog in a section of wheat stubble, and the dog is working back and forth like a windshield wiper. I like watching a dog work, and was day dreaming when the dog flushes a hen right by me. Holy cow! Dog ended up flushing more birds, but they were all hens. I was very impressed, and would love to have one some day.

Good luck on your new best friend.

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."
