First wife and I spent little over 3 years there in the late 80s while I was stationed at Ft Lewis.
Probably the first "big city" either of us were ever in. Back then it was a really nice place.
Winters weren't bad, upper 30s and 40s, lot of rain. Western side of the mountains in WA seldom gets snow. We had 7 inches one time and it shut down the town for 4 days!
As a Guy from Western Pennsylvania, it was funny as hell to see a little snow cause such mayhem!
