Among my family's memorabilia is a bill of sale for a slave. My mom's side is from the South, i.e., Georgia and Virginia. Dad's side is from Italy, and only came here, via Ellis Island (settling in Little Italy, NYC), in the 1920s. Mom's people have been in Dixie since colonial days.
