Do you not understand what the man is trying to do?

Really. The man is just pushing the law to show the absurdity of the underlying concept.

But it does raise some interesting questions. Could he be divorced and sued for infidelity for using a cell phone? What if he upgrades to a newer model (something that happens quite often in the real world), would his laptop have certain community property rights to his stuff? Would full backups be considered offspring? It's a brave new world....

Or he wants to insure his computer can't be compelled to "testify" against him if it contains illegal porn.
