Steve—that thread quickly developed into a Mad Trapper discussion.
That’s an interesting case but has very few similarities with the present case.
People in the bush aren’t usually that hard to find. The Mad trapper wasn’t hard to find—he was just hard to catch.
With these 2 kids from BC something just doesn’t add up here—hide in the bush—okay—but for 5 days—no way.
I can only think of 3 possibilities—they had local help—which seems unlikely—they got out of the area before police showed up or they committed suicide in a hidy-hole and wont be found.
I live in a rather isolated place and have travelled the Boreal extensively—on a moments notice i could disappear for a couple of days—with planning i could disappear for maybe a week or 10 days but not long term.
I know off 2 people who disappeared off the face of the earth—off the Trans-Canada hiway—not a clue as to what happened to them—although one left a suicide note. Also know of a body found tied to a tree—young man—not far off the Trans-Canada and I don’t think the authorities even know who he was.
