I prefer the Hawkeyes for the steel floorplate. Not a huge deal either way. The two All Weather Hawkeyes I've owned both came with perfectly usable triggers, better than how I remember my Mk II. Either can be tweaked or replaced.

The matte finish is pretty subdued, so I prefer that as well over the shiny Mk II. A little Frog Lube or Break Free will keep either free from rust. I also much prefer the current synthetic stocks to the cult favorite boat paddle.

All that said, $450 for a nice SS Mk II is a deal IMO. Last new All Weather Hawkeyes I priced were about $700. Don't know about used prices.
