They are fantastic table fare.
There's a huge disconnect between what that bird looks like and what it tastes like. Maybe on of the biggest in nature? That a bold statement and probably not true, but it is a striking disconnect.
Favorite uncle, a very picky eater, was visiting and unbeknownst sampled some crane. He loved it until my brother in law deadpanned "Pretty good for something standing around eating frogs!"
