What I don't understand is why did Colt put SERIES 70 on the new guns when the whole point of the original SERIES 70 was the collet barrel and bushing.... Since they don't have the collet barrel and bushing they should have stamped them PRE-SERIES 80, but maybe the customers would not have liked that....
I personally like the post WWII stamping that went through 1970 on the full size GMs and GCs and the Commander and Combat Commander till about 1982 area...
