I have almost an identical project on a slow burn. Mine will be on an FN model 1950 military action that was already sporterized with a receiver sight instead of a scope. This will allow the use of stripper clips too. 9.3x62 looks really cool on clips!

As others have said, that action is from Mauser Werk in 1942. Should be a fine action for your project.

That being said, commercial actions are generally built to tighter specs with better materials and do not need as much modification as military. I went with my FN military because it's a post war action (better materials, no wartime corners cut) and I like the stripper clip guide and thumb cut that post war commercial actions lack.
