My Model 70 has a 1-10" Shilen. I've shot everything from 85gr Sierras to 140gr partiions. It seems to favor the 120-125 bullets the best, though I haven't tried many heavier bullets. It shot the Barnes 130gr and the 140gr Partition OK, but not great..I also got very good accuracy with the 100gr Partition and the 95gr V-Max. But I get great accuracy with the 120Gr BT and it's such a fast killer I haven't felt like I needed anything else, on deer sized game anyway. If it was a 1-8" I would definitely try some of the heavier VLD type bullets. Really would depend on what you want to do with it I guess.
