Anyone have thoughts or done work towards a 37 Nosler? Simply a 33 Nosler necked up to 375 caliber. It would be a bit shorter than the 375 Ruger case (2.46" vs 2.58"), which would be the attraction. It would fit very well in a Tikka action and/or keep long bullets from being seated so deeply. Additionally, less powder and needed barrel length required than a 375 Ruger to help further make a lightweight and shorter build sensible. Case capacity would be about 5 gr less than the H&H case, which, after factoring in likely better efficiency, would be a wash. A more ideal case design, less recoil, still matched with current bullet construction, and opening the door to even better BC bullets for a standard length action. ...............Interesting thought.....I did back in 2008 purchase a new Ruger Alaskan w/ 20" barrel and CRF action. Other than a few minor aspects regarding a 37 Nosler build, the Ruger Alaskan will do everything you mention above without any potential headaches of doing a build and less $$$$ too....
