Bears shed their fur each spring and get really ugly. It then grows in slowly through the summer and then fills in for a timely nap. Summer hides are plain ugly and by fall the fur is usually pretty uniform but thin and short. I am not a fan of fall hides, but they are not bad and I am such a fan of bear hides in general I give them all away!
Spring hides can be fantastic...
