Lately I've had the desire for a lighter weight mountain rifle. Thinking about a Kimber 84L. Then it occurred to me that I already have a stainless featherweight classic in 30-06. Its currently wearing the factory walnut stock. My idea is to replace the wood with a lightweight synthetic.
I love the McMillan edge but wonder what my rifle would weigh in it. Are there others that I should look at? Will any post 64 long action stock fit my rifle?
