Sooooo my 30th anniversary is in 2020 and I'm giving some thought as to what my wife might want to gift with me. Isn't that thoughtfu of me?

I have a 54 Cal Hawken percussion with 1/48 twist, which she gave me 29 years ago. It shoots round balls well if I keep the velocity down, but I've always wanted one in 1/65 to 1/70 twist so I could ramp up the power level. I've never gotten it to shoot long lead now matter what I tried.

Been thinking maybe I might want a 50 caliber for the full power job. What is a good twist in 50 caliber to shoot round balls at maxed out velocities? I see a lot of 1/48 twists, but I don't think that's going to get it done.

The Pedersoli Tryon Target Deluxe has caught me eye. But in 50 cal it only has 1/48 twist.

Thoughts?
