Most of these reported loads you all are talking about are compressed loads, some as much as 15-20% with high pressures. As to the Weld-core bullets. Woodleigh reports the same velocity with both at the muzzle (which I haven't found) but close, but the BC's are different and thus the down range impact velocity's. Then most of these loads you all are going by are based on rifles with barrels from anywhere between 24" and 26". Added up it can make a big difference when using a rifle with a 20" barrel and a standard (non compressed load) short of a 150 yards I wouldn't worry too much about the bullet, won't get much expansion maybe but a 358 hole isn't nothing to sneeze at. Woodleigh suggest between 2000-2500 fps with a 1800 absolute minimum. Mine is a 22" M70 featherweight... I don't give out load data, never have and never will. But hope any attempting max-loads will be safe and do it slowly.
