My son has had a Ruger 77 Hawkeye 30-06 with a Leupold FX-II 4X on top for a couple years. I seem to keep borrowing it for hunting and have grown partial to it. It's quite the shooter and I killed one of my deer with it this year. Anyway he's developed quite a fascination with Winchester model 94's and keeps coming home with them. Yesterday he came home with a 1970 manufacture in 44 mag. Pretty rare gun. So I said to him you want another? He asked what do I mean? I said you can have my model 94 flat band 30-30 if you want. He asked me what I want in return and I said the Ruger 30-06 will do. He said done deal.
I'm done wanting to hunt with open sights anyway.
He's already talking about his next model 94 purchase. LOL.
