I'm gonna get flamed for this but----The Searchers.
Now that makes me want to read the book!!!
I wouldn't flame you at all, but I do disagree. IMO The Searchers is the best movie ever made. It isn't perfect though. I can see where somebody would think it was a bad movie based on how closely it follows the book. I actually think the movie is better than the book, but they do differ significantly. I think The Searchers is a good book made into an excellent movie. Alan LeMay wrote the book and he also authored The Unforgiven. IMO The Unforgiven is a better novel than The Searchers. The movie isn't as good as The Searchers, but is still excellent.
