Basically because I've had a Savage Axis and Ruger American and didnt care for either. I have a TC Venture and really like it and my son has a Compass and it shoots great. The compass I can get in a price range similiar to the Boyd's stock. I was apprehensive to throw money into the Rem 770 because of its track record. If I did and then it broke down and I couldnt fix it then I would have wasted money. I trying to reason out the best path to take with the 2 options I have. By the way I bought the 770 a year ago off a buddy that didnt like the recoil and was needing some cash. I have 50 dollars and a few items I traded for it. Thanks
