I've always liked the concept of the Kimber TLE II. Just don't trust the maker.
They are the largest manufacturer of 1911s.
Your bad experience is wiped away by the zillions of happy Kimber owners. I notice that you never have anything constructive to say.
I have two kimbers, both have plastic mainspring housings, both have full-length guide rods, both are over 20 years old now. One has over 20,000 rounds, the other about 8000. They just work. And I'm pleased.
