The majority of my whitetail deer hunting has been in shotgun states. I have always used slug guns or muzzleloaders, and have leaned more towards a muzzleloader for my go to weapon in these states.

In recent years, straight wall cartridges have become legal in these areas. Now, the 450 Bushmaster is pretty popular option for straight wall deer hunting, but most of my hunting is with my 9 year old son, so recoil was a potential issue.

So, I decided to give the 350 Legend a try. To make a long story short, the chambering is a pleasure to shoot. It's been very accurate. And, it's taken deer with authority. He shot 7 deer with it and myself 1. Seven of the deer dropped in their tracks and one of the deer made it 60 yards. Also, meat damage has been minimal.

In conclusion, I have been very impressed with it.

Anyone else try it this hunting season?
