I’ve been tweaking a rifle for predator hunting using a Rem 700 5R milspec that shoots great. I’ve been using this and that parts and have a QD scope mount that I can pop off and put a Pulsar thermal on. Everything is dialed in but now I’m not liking the stock set up. It has that thick palm swell and fat for end stock. It’s either a BC or HS in dark green. Before using this for hunting I had installed a PT&G DBM using ACIS 223 mags which really make it a cumbersome hunting rifle. The 10 round mags are basically 308 mags with fillers for the 223. Looking for some restock suggestions. I don’t want to go McMillan etc, don’t need the high capacity mags so an ADL type stock would work.
I’m sticking with 223 because I have about 2000 loaded service rifle match loads left over so this was my bolt gun to practice and plink with since I don’t shoot matches anymore. Otherwise I’d look at another rifle. Interestingly it’s about the most out of the box accurate rifle I’ve ever had.
