What the Republicans should do is say when can not allow witnesses because one of them may the whistle blower. They could say "since we don't know who the whistle blower is, it might be John Bolton, so we need to protect him, when the Schief says it's not Bolton, then they should ask how he knows that? or a whistle blower should come forward and testify anonymously about the whistle blower.
